What hormone therapy treats

Hormone changes can drive fatigue, low libido, weight changes, mood shifts, poor sleep and other symptoms in both men and women. We start by evaluating your symptoms and measuring the relevant hormones, then diagnose what is actually going on before recommending treatment. Where therapy is appropriate, we prescribe it and monitor your response with follow-up labs and visits — treatment is individualized, not one-size-fits-all.

Hormone therapy for men

For men, that most often means evaluating and treating low testosterone. Symptoms such as low energy, reduced libido, loss of muscle or mood changes are assessed alongside blood testing, and treatment is considered only when the diagnosis supports it. See our dedicated testosterone replacement therapy page and our men's health care.

Hormone therapy for women

For women, hormone care most often centers on perimenopause and menopause — hot flashes, sleep and mood changes, and related symptoms. We evaluate your history and hormones and discuss the options, including hormone therapy where you are a candidate. See our menopause and perimenopause care and women's health.

Pellet therapy

Some patients ask specifically about hormone pellets. Pellet therapy is one delivery method we offer for eligible patients; whether it is appropriate for you is determined by evaluation, and we monitor treatment with follow-up. Learn how it works on our hormone pellet therapy page.

Thyroid and other hormones

Hormone health is more than sex hormones. Thyroid conditions, in particular, cause many of the same symptoms and are common, so evaluation often includes thyroid testing. We diagnose and treat thyroid disease through our thyroid care service.

What testing we run

Testing is guided by your symptoms and may include testosterone, estrogen and progesterone, thyroid studies, and related metabolic labs. We explain what each test means and use the results to guide treatment, rather than treating on symptoms alone.

Is hormone therapy covered by insurance?

Hormone evaluation and testing are generally billable to insurance or Medicare as part of your medical care, and many treatments are covered as well. Some specific therapies may be self-pay depending on your plan; we are transparent about cost before anything is started. Insurance participation can change — call or text 214-810-4331 to confirm your plan.

Your first visit

Your first hormone visit includes a full history, an examination, and lab orders. You leave with a plan and a follow-up schedule; if treatment is appropriate, we start it and monitor your response over time.

Hormone therapy questions we are asked most

Testing, treatment options and coverage for men and women.

Do you treat hormones for both men and women?

Yes. We evaluate, diagnose and treat hormone conditions in both men and women — from low testosterone in men to perimenopause and menopause in women — and monitor treatment with follow-up.

Is hormone testing covered by insurance?

Hormone evaluation and testing are generally billable to insurance or Medicare as part of your medical care. Some specific treatments may be self-pay depending on your plan; we are clear about cost up front. Call 214-810-4331 to confirm.

Do you offer hormone pellets?

Yes, for eligible patients. Whether pellet therapy is appropriate for you is determined by evaluation, and treatment is monitored with follow-up. See our hormone pellet therapy page for details.

How soon will I know if something is wrong?

Most hormone labs return within a few days. We review the results with you, explain what they mean, and build a plan from there rather than treating on symptoms alone.

Could my symptoms be a thyroid problem instead?

Possibly — thyroid conditions cause many of the same symptoms and are common. That is why evaluation often includes thyroid testing, and we treat thyroid disease here as well.
